We had a chat with the Rustenburg-born musician about his home town.
What do you like about Rustenburg?
It is my hometown, it is real and the people are real too. I love the fresh air in my town. There is not that much air pollution even though there is mining being conducted here.
The other thing I love about Rustenburg is the economic freedom it has given to thousands of South Africans through its mineral resources.
Which are your favourite restaurants there and why?
Mma Medi's Restaurant is the best. They sell the best kota in Rustenburg and the service is excellent.
Your favourite nightspot in Rustenburg?
It is called Kwa Reggie. It is very under-rated but is a nice spot. The vibe is amazing and it is a very nice place to chill.
Favourite hotel or B&B in Rustenburg?
Protea Hotel is my favourite. It is a nice spot that is easy to find. They serve a nice breakfast and the place is well kept.
There is nothing more annoying than a hotel with old towels and linen.
Though I frequent the place, I must say I prefer home.
What makes Rustenburg great?
The people of Rustenburg are the best ever. They celebrate talent and I love their warmth.
What is your favourite shisanyama in Rustenburg?
Kwa Reggie, again, is the spot to be. The service is good, the meat is great and the company is amazing.
Where would you take a tourist for entertainment in Rustenburg?
Sun City. The ambience of the resort is amazing. l love the glamour and sophistication it has.
I also like Manyane Resort in Pilanesberg Game Reserve. It is a haven for any outdoor enthusiast. It has superb entertainment including quad biking and my favourite, sky diving. There are also a host of other activities that one can engage in there. The resort's scenery is amazing.
What is your favourite place for a quiet meal with your family?
I love being at home for a quiet meal. It is the most heart-warming experience of them all.
How do you see Rustenburg's future?
It is one of the fastest growing towns in Africa and it has the richest tribe in the world. If we play our cards right, the place will one day be the capital of the world.
Best hair salon in Rustenburg?
I like cutting my hair at Steve's place. He has a small barber shop. Small as it is, his barber shop cuts the best styles. He understands my personality and knows how to cut my hair well.
Best spa?
I don't do spas. I am very manly like that.
