Mroza turns up dazed after vanishing - Maskandi star found 'nearly naked'
Maskandi superstar Sthembiso "Mroza" Fakude left his family worried after disappearing from Soweto, only to be found in Carltonville dazed and almost naked.
The Van Damme hitmaker had been in Gauteng to record new music and was staying with his girlfriend in Zola North before returning to KwaZulu-Natal.
His uncle, Moso Fakude, told Sowetan that they had become worried when his girlfriend called to check if he had arrived home safely after abruptly leaving Joburg.
"He told his girlfriend two days after arriving in Joburg that he wanted to go back home and did not elaborate why," Moso said.
"She said his phones were off. We started panicking. We went to Joburg and opened a missing person's report and reported his car stolen."
Mroza was found in Carltonville after apparently wandering into someone's yard.
Moso said Mroza claimed he was being chased by a group of people. "We don't know at this stage what happened and we are cautious. We don't want him to feel pressured into explaining what happened."
He apparently said there were men who wanted him dead and were threatening him via SMSs. Fakude claimed that after controversially winning the Metro FM Song of the Year Award, his life had become difficult.
Police spokesman Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng confirmed that Fakude had been reported missing on Thursday, but had been found on Friday.
