AKA's Hustle pays off with top role on hit reality TV show

Rapper AKA is excited to step behind the camera as an executive producer on the upcoming second season of Mzansi Magic’s hit music reality show The Hustle.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE AKA explained that his new role would see him‚ among other things‚ come up with concepts and ideas for the challenges given to contestants on the show.

“It feels great to have this opportunity! I was an important part of the first season of the show and I really felt that I had so much to give. So‚ to now be able to impart more of my knowledge of the industry in my new role is a great thing for me‚” AKA said.

He explained that he approached Mzansi Magic some time back to discuss some ideas for the show’s second season‚ set to air later this year.

“I felt like I had something to give and told them my ideas to make the show bigger and better. Luckily‚ they agreed‚” AKA added.

He confirmed that he will still stay on as a judge on the show‚ believing he can fill both roles.

“It’s not a problem for me. I have always been invested in helping young artists get a platform for exposure‚ and these roles will really help push that forward and making sure that the contestants have every opportunity to have a bright future‚” the rapper explained.

The show will no doubt uncover a number of exciting talents‚ but AKA said that he is not looking to capitalise on the opportunity to sign one of these talents to his record label.

“I don’t think I want to sign anyone to my record label right now‚” he added.
