Use images to help study

Here are some study tips:

  • Use metaphors so you can organise information by comparing a complex idea to a simple one. For example, compare parts of a computer to parts of your brain.
  • It is hard to remember abstract ideas because they are so far removed from our senses. Try to come up with pictures, feelings and images that are related to the information.
  • Teach someone what you are learning - spending a few minutes explaining a complicated concept can really help.
  • Connect each piece of information with something else you have learnt so you don't have islands of information.
  • To make sure you have linked various concepts together, check how easy it is to jump from one section to another. If you find you can't connect different sections, find a way of doing so.
