Sadie Frost was rushed to hospital after nearly chopping off her finger while making a Sunday lunch

The actress-turned-designer was cutting up vegetables when she sliced through her left index finger, leaving it dangling by a piece of skin.

Mother-of-four Sadie dashed to Accident and Emergency where doctors managed to sew the digit back on.

The 45-year-old star is now recuperating at her Primrose Hill home, in north London, after being told not to go back to work.

Sadie was due to start filming her part in a low-budget movie this week, but her spokesperson said: "Sadie has been told to rest and put all working commitments on hold".

Sadie recently revealed she has been seeing a therapist since she was 16.

The brunette beauty - who has a son, Finlay, 19, with Spandau Ballet star Gary Kemp and Rafferty, 13, Iris, nine, and 7-year-old Rudy with ex-husband Jude Law - said:

"Becoming a mum has made me feel more complete but I've also needed therapy to get there - I've been seeing a therapist since I was 16.

"Therapy isn't something you can do overnight. I have wanted to push boundaries and overcome certain insecurities."
