Thumbs up for MTN's launch of iPhone

Booze flowed so freely you would have thought there was a prohibition scare

MTN good times and things happen to those who wait, so after waiting for years for the iPhone 4 to come to Mzansi we girls had to meet it halfway since it was launched at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Halfway House, Midrand.

The usually drab venue looked like the inside of a computer, what with everything digitised. It was so cool you had tables where you could order drinks without having to say a word to anybody and High-Tech decorated walls.

iPhone 4 was guarded by beefy security guards.

Booze flowed so freely you would have thought there was a prohibition scare.

The usual hot suspects were there. Fistaz Maxwell, known to love the IPhone, kept the audience entertained by spinning the vinyls.

Bridgette Masinga was lucky enough to win one while the rest of us drooled like peasants.

Spotted Amstel, looking as fab as usual, telling folk that Koyo will be fine but had taken the death of 3Sum member Jeff very badly - this after rumours were rife that Koyo was not doing very well.

The party was sizzling for a Tuesday and we enjoyed various dishes, from sushi and mini hotdogs to some yummy desserts that went straight to my sidekick's behind.

Chief MTN South Africa marketing officer Serame Taukobong was his beautiful self and we are all so proud of him.

Another hot one was Babalwa Mneno, who sported a ring worth R200000 and the hottest boots on the planet. We did not bother to ask how much they cost because we were looking for free food.

Though we girls did not win a phone it was great to see MTN being the first mobile voice and data network to launch the IPhone 4, the next generation in Smartphones.

Spotted Terry Pheto, whom we must agree has a very large behind for one person. It's hot, though, if you are into that kind of thing.

Dineo Ranaka and her little body were also there, dancing like a mosquito - what a sweetie.

Great party, guys, and thanks for the entertainment. It was so ... Ayoba.

  • If you are still not sure what to do this long weekend, come and party with us girls at Sun City. We are going there for spring break, so check us frolicking at the Valley of the Waves, dancing to DJs' vinyls. We love our lives. See you there.
