Kaizer Chiefs defender Kgotso Moleko has admitted he is losing sleep over the club's current situation.

Amakhosi, who won the league and MTN8 last season, are set to finish the season empty-handed.

"I don't know about my colleagues, but I can't sleep. We are losing and that's not good. It is hurting. We know we are letting the chairman and our fans down," Moleko said.

Chiefs will hope to redeem themselves in the CAF Champions League when they face Asec Mimosas at FNB Stadium tomorrow (7.30pm).

The Ivorians arrived on Wednesday morning for the first leg of their first round tie.

Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says the competition is an opportunity to put an end to their sleepless nights.

"When Moleko says, 'I can't sleep' it gets to you. As much as you, Steve, as an individual cannot sleep, can we at least [help] put somebody [the fans] to sleep? Now, you have to find a way of inspiring and putting energy into the players," Komphela said.

"The chairman wants us to win the (CAF) trophy and that on its own is a motivation," Komphela assured.

Chiefs skipper Siphiwe Tshabalala said the team has to go all out in the Champions League to make up for the disaster in the domestic league.

"We find ourselves in a difficult situation and as a team, the only way to come out of this is to show character - make a great comeback.

"We know the importance of the responsibility that we are carrying, so I did speak to the guys. I always speak to the guys and we don't play the blame game on each other, no. When we take the fall, we do so as a collective and we win as a collective. From now on, we need to persist until we succeed," said Tshabalala.

Chiefs spokesman Vina Maphosa has confirmed a television blackout for the clash.

"The match will not be televised. We had negotiations, but we didn't reach an agreement with any of the broadcasters," he said.

Asec knocked out Chiefs in the play-off round of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup after winning 2-0 on aggregate.
