Ernst Middendorp has been confirmed as the head coach of Maritzburg United with immediate effect.

The German born mentor dumped Free State Stars two weeks ago, reportedly to join the Team of Choice.

"Maritzburg United can confirm the appointment of Ernst Middendorp as the new Head Coach for the Team of Choice.

"He takes over the reins from today and will be assisted by Fadlu Davids," according to a statement issued by the club.

He will be assisted by Fadlu Davids.
