Bafana's crazy schedule leads to PSL match delays

In the midst of the insanity caused by Bafana Bafana's scheduled landing from their central American sojourn, the league will resume with just one match tomorrow.

That is how disruptive Bafana's change of travel plans have been for the Premier Soccer League clubs.

Bafana will arrive only tomorrow and hence the postponement of the fixtures on the day.

Fortunately, for Golden Arrows coach Serame Letsoaka, he will have his Namibian internationals back from international duty when his side entertains Bloemfontein Celtic at Chatsworth Stadium tomorrow (3.30pm).

Deon Hotto and Max Mbaeva have been integral to the Durban side's decent start to the season, while Chris Katjiukua has not featured much.

They all started in Brave Warriors' 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek during the week.

Abafana Bes'thende are not weaker without their foreign contingent but Letsoaka knows a team as strong as Celtic needs a full complement of players.

"We have not prepared with our three international players and they have only arrived just now," he said yesterday.

''But the fact that they've joined us now is not much of a concern because they were training and playing with their national team. However, one would have wanted them to train with the team so that they can catch up with the team patterns and tactics very quickly."

While most of the attention has been deservedly focused on Platinum Stars and Mpumalanga Black Aces, who are the surprise league leaders, Phunya SeleSele have lurked in third place with 13 points ahead of Bidvest Wits on goal difference.

With the teams a point ahead of them, a 2-0 win will be enough to see Celtic go top even though the chasers will have a game in hand.

Letsoaka is more concerned about Celtic's defensive solidity as Clinton Larson's charges have not conceded a goal in their last four league outings.

"They haven't been conceding goals, which is a sign of a strong side that is very organised. But this is a good challenge for our boys. We can only hope that our boys can actually rise to the challenge and on the day, make sure that Bloemfontein Celtic concedes," Letsoaka said.
