Prankster throws 'cash' at Blatter

The once-omnipotent FIFA boss Sepp Blatter was today confronted by a protester throwing money at him as he prepared to host a press conference in Zurich‚ Switzerland‚ to announce how the world soccer federation intends to elect a new president.

British media are identifying the prankster as Simon Brodkin‚ an English comedian. The paper notes are believed to be fake dollars.

FIFA and Blatter‚ the outgoing president‚ are mired in a major bribery scandal that earlier this year saw US prosecutors lay charges against 14 soccer officials.

Allegations of corruption have marred the awarding of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and speculation is rife about the 2018 and 2022 World Cups‚ due to be held in Russia and Qatar.
