Orlando Pirates have added midfielder Menzi Masuku and new goalkeeper Felipe Ovono to their CAF Confederation Cup squad ahead of their clash against Zamalek tomorrow, assistant coach Teboho Moloi confirmed yesterday.

Bucs and the Egyptian giants clash at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

Pirates only had two goalkeepers - Brighton Mhlongo and Philani Zikalala - registered in the knockout phase of the competition and now head coach Eric Tinkler can breathe easier with the addition of the Equatorial Guinea national goalkeeper to his squad.

Pirates, the joint Group B leaders on three points, have been in Nelspruit since Tuesday to prepare for the game. Zamalek arrived in SA on Wednesday.

Moloi said the Egyptian Premier League leaders will be better prepared this time after Bucs hammered them 4-1 at Orlando Stadium during the Champions League group stages two years ago.

"We have watched a couple of their games from their league. It's not by chance that they are on top of the league. They are very determined and they want to get back at us for beating them the last time," Moloi said.

"They arrived early to prepare for the game and that shows how serious they are. They underestimated us last time and got the shock of their lives. They know what to expect this time. It's a grudge game and it's not going to be easy."

Moloi said they will guard against being caught on the counterattack.

Pirates face a Zamalek side that has lost just one match away from home in the competition this year.

The five-time Champions League winners have done pretty well away from home en route to the group stages - thrashing Rwanda's Rayon Sports 3-0 in the first round, followed by a narrow 3-2 victory over FUS Rabat of Morocco in the second round. They lost 1-0 to DRC club Sanga Balende in the play-off round before the group stages.

Their Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira has made it clear that they are here to win, so Bucs should be ready.
