Majoro's shadow hovering over Chiefs

JUST a fortnight after Kingston Nkhatha played a key role in Kaizer Chiefs' first defeat of the season, Amakhosi face another former striker just itching to put them to the sword.

Lehlohonolo Majoro swapped the black and gold for black and white last season after a fallout with Amakhosi and he's finally firing for Orlando Pirates.

Majoro is currently on eight league goals this season, which is one less than the nine goals Amakhosi strikers have scored between them - including the five David Zulu scored while at Chippa United.

The 28-year-old made a slow start when he joined Pirates and was a "super sub" under Vladimir Vermezovic in the first half of the season. But he has come into his own under caretaker coach Eric Tinkler and his shadow is looming large as he prepares to face his former employers.

"He is a good player and he's got everything. He's got pace and his decision-making is very good. His movement off the ball is good and he is a good finisher," said Pirates legend Jerry Sikhosana, who was a handful for Amakhosi defenders during his playing days.

"The derby is very important for strikers. You know that if you score, people will always remember you."

Former Chiefs and Pirates striker Pollen Ndlanya is a big fan of Majoro and has advised the player to ignore the boo boys tomorrow.

"He is proving he can score and that he is aggressive in the box. There will be pressure and booing from fans. I hope he keeps his cool and concentrates on his work," said Ndlanya.
