AJAX Cape Town will be without their leading marksman Thabiso Nkoana for tonight's Absa Premiership match against University of Pretoria as they seek to keep up their impressive start to the season.

Nkoana is suspended and should have missed the match against SuperSport United, scheduled for Cape Town last Sunday.

But after the match against SuperSport got postponed, Nkoana, who has six goals in all competitions for his new club, now misses a key away match against AmaTuks.

The powerfully built forward has been a revelation since arriving in Cape Town and will likely be missed, as Ajax coach Roger de Sa must now reshuffle his attack.

Injury concerns over Franklin Cale add to Ajax's concerns while AmaTuks will give a late fitness test to their Malawian international striker Atusaye Nyondo.

Ajax lost their last game against Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout after they were caught out at set pieces by careless defending.

"But these are mistakes we can correct, so we are not too worried about it," said De Sa.

"Overall, I can't be too unhappy with our last performance," the former Orlando Pirates and Wits University coach said.

The PSL programme resumes at 6pm at the Charles Mopeli Stadium in Phuthaditjhaba when Free State Stars host Polokwane City.
