KAMOHELO Mokotjo is set to put weeks of frustration behind him when he returns to action for Dutch top-flight side PEC Zwolle next weekend.

The Bafana Bafana international, who has been among the top midfielders in the Eredivisie this season, has not played since February 1 after undergoing knee surgery.

But he has regained his full fitness and on Tuesday celebrated his 23rd birthday at training with the rest of his teammates.

"Things are getting better with the knee and all felt well during training. I cannot wait to play again," he told reporters.

This weekend's visit of local rivals Go Ahead Eagles will likely come too soon for him, but he has targeted the fixture against AZ Alkmaar on March 23 for his return.

Before his injury, Mokotjo was on top of the highly regarded player of the season rankings in the Netherlands, but following five weeks on the sidelines has little chance of making up for lost ground now with six games to go in the campaign.

He would likely have made the Bafana squad for the recent mauling by Brazil, having played his part in the 1-0 win over Spain last November.

Mokotjo, a product of the SuperSport Academy, joined PEC from Feyenoord at the start of the season.
