PSL clubs eye Nkoana

BAROKA FC ace midfielder and Transnet Football School of Excellence graduate Khunadi Nkoana is in big demand in the Absa Premiership.

The queue to sign Nkoana has attracted top clubs like SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, Ajax Cape Town and Maritzburg United.

"I'm weighing up my options in terms of the offers on the table," said Nkoana, who is from Ga-Semenya village in Moletji, outside Seshego township.

"I can confirm that several clubs have approached me and we will discuss their offers with my family and business manager (Karabo Mathang).

"Right now I'm on holiday after the Vodacom League play-offs in Cape Town but I hope to finalise the deal before the end of the month."

Mathang has met with Maritzburg United's coach Ian Palmer and Gavin Hunt of SuperSport United, who was also in Cape Town for the play-offs. Mathang could not be reached for comment.

Two Baroka players, Katlego Mashego and Mcimedi Baloyi, have been snapped up by Free State Stars.

Another Baroka player, Thobani Mncwango, could end up at Orlando Pirates.

In the Free State, Bloemfontein Celtic have signed Malawian defender Limbakani Mzava, according to general manager Khumbulani Konco.

Celtic are also in the process of completing the permanent acquisition of striker Lennox Bacela who was loaned out by Santos last season.

Meanwhile, former Bafana Bafana defender and Under-23 national captain Nassif Morris is back in South Africa where he is hoping to end his career.

"My plan is to end my career in South Africa after having been in Europe for 10 years, but I will go back to Greece if there is nothing here at home," Morris said.

The 35-year-old Morris is reported to be high on the wanted lists of Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United and Santos.

Morris, now a free agent after his contract with Apollon Limassol in Cyprus expired in May, said: "I have read stories linking me to various clubs but I still have to be approached."
