I have been an avid watcher of true crime since I came across On The Case With Paula Zahn over a decade ago. The criminal mind is fascinating to me, in great part because it is the best illustration of a debate that has always fascinated me – that of nature vs nurture.

Psychologists and sociologists alike have been engaged in an age-old debate about whether humans are a product of environment or biology, with most leaning towards the former. This debate is also often used by criminalists, who argue that criminals are created by upbringing and environment, and are not born that way. This fascinating debate is not the only thing that interests me about true crime. Another is the way in which certain types of women are drawn to hardened criminals, particularly serial murderers and rapists. ..
