Police in eThekwini raided suspected drug dealers in the Umlazi area last night‚ seizing 87 capsules of whoonga.
Three suspects were arrested at different locations.
The arrested suspects aged between 23 and 39 will appear in the Umlazi Magistrates Court today facing charges of possession of drugs‚ Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said.
Drugs including whoonga — a highly addictive mixture of heroin and additives such as rat poison and sometimes antiretrovirals — were found at the scene of mass murder in Durban on Friday night. Police are still investigating the murder of six people and the wounding of a seventh person in Hammarsdale‚ west of the city.
