A Durban toddler is in a stable condition after being found wrapped in a blanket and abandoned in the rain by police.
Police discovered the child‚ aged between 12 and 18 months‚ at a sports field near Mariannhill‚ outside Durban‚ on Tuesday night.
Emergency Medical Services spokesman Robert McKenzie said the baby girl was taken to a police station and examined by paramedics.
“When paramedics examined the baby… they found her to be in a stable condition. She was transported to a hospital for a more detailed examination by a paediatrician‚” said McKenzie.
