Two people have been shot during a hostage situation inside the Meadows Complex estate in the eastern suburb of Moreleta Park on Wednesday afternoon‚ Pretoria police have confirmed.
It is believed they are wounded.
A police hostage negotiator has been brought in to assist‚ Garsfontein cluster police spokesperson‚ Captain Ilze Jones‚ said.
“I can confirm that shots were fired and two people have been hit‚ but we are not sure of their status as yet‚” she said.
Jones said an armed man opened fire inside the security complex‚ adding that a private security guard and policeman were still being held hostage inside.
She said details were still sketchy at this stage.
