Two construction workers have been injured after they were hit by a vehicle which had left the road and crashed down an embankment‚ at KwaDabeka‚ near Pinetown.
Paramedics from the Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services and a local private ambulance service responded to the scene earlier this morning.
The construction workers‚ both men aged about 30‚ had been working on water pipes when they were hit by the vehicle‚ which then rolled several times down an embankment.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
The department’s Robert Mckenzie said the patients were stabilised at the scene before being transported to hospital for continued medical care.
“The police were also at the scene and have started an investigation into the cause of the crash‚” he said.
