With the African National Congress (ANC) surging into the lead in Limpopo‚ Communications Minister Faith Muthambi said it is a relief people still have confidence in the party.

“What is left on our side is for us to deliver on what we told them we are going to do‚” she said in an interview you can view at

“But with us‚ you know‚ the advantage is that we are just adding on what we have started doing.

“So together with all the South Africans I believe we are going to do more.”

By noon on Thursday‚ with 48% of the ballots counted‚ the ANC had taken 67% of the vote in Limpopo‚ the Economic Freedom Fighters 16.85%‚ and the Democratic Alliance 9.98%.

Muthambi expressed excitement at the results so far and said she had stayed at the Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) operations centre all night because she wanted to see the last result come in.
