Malema lashes out at 'biased' ENCA and Ipsos

ENCA TV reporter Xoli Mngambi came in for an unexpected tongue-lashing when he asked Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema his views on the election campaign.

Malema‚ on a tour of tornado-hit Tembisa‚ took Mngambi to task for the fact that his television station used research company Ipsos to estimate how political parties would perform in the August 3 local government elections.

“Ekurhuleni is not an issue. It is an issue to ENCA and Ipsos‚” Malema said.

“You are only concentrating where the DA is strong. You are favouring the DA‚[you] ENCA and Ipsos... Ipsos conducts research where the DA stands a chance to win. If the DA does not stand a chance to win anywhere‚ there is no Ipsos results because they are DA.

“We don’t have a problem with research. We allow and support the process of research. But let it not be partisan. The ENCA has bought into a racist political agenda‚ spearheaded by Ipsos‚ in favour of the DA.”

Every municipality in South Africa mattered‚ the EFF leadder continued. “It is wrong of you in the ENCA to say... Ekurhuleni is not even receiving any attention. It is receiving attention from all of us except ENCA and Ipsos.

“You are Ipsos driven and Ipsos is DA driven. ENCA is DA and SABC is ANC. It is not a secret. We speak to you because we have no option‚” he added as Mngambi smiled at him.

Malema was speaking during a brief interaction with journalists while visiting families affected by the tornado that hit the township yesterday.

He canceled the EFF rally in Maokeng Park to lend support to affected families. However‚ he warned that his organisation was a serious threat to the ruling party and the main opposition.

“The EFF is a threat to the ruling party. The EFF is the threat to the DA‚ the official opposition. A party of three years makes older parties to have a nightmare‚” Malema said.
