Pepper spray alarm chokes would-be thieves

Would-be thieves who tried their luck at a computer shop were thwarted by a pepper spray alarm system‚ which left them empty-handed and choking instead.

Ian Colls‚ the manufacturer of the pepper spray alarm‚ said the system was made specifically for the South African market.

The alarm system which works independently from the blitz alarm can squirt up to 300ml of fiery pepper spray.

Colls says the system can be linked to a user’s cell phone or CCTV feed of the business. This allows the business owner to activate it remotely from the comfort and safety of their home. The system can also be primed to activate automatically once intruders have been detected.

Colls says the alarm system sends the criminals packing and choking but empty handed.

This system sells for R5‚000 including installation.
