Two convicted for gang-raping man jailed for seven years

Two men accused of repeatedly gang-raping a 20-year-old Kimberley man have been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Shawn Leonard September‚ 28‚ and his 25-year-old accomplice‚ Brendon Ralph Hugo‚ were sentenced last week by the Kimberley Regional Magistrate’s Court.

On December 13‚ 2014‚ the duo dragged a man from Greenpoint into a shack and took turns raping him. He escaped and reported the matter to the police.

The two men were arrested after they were pointed out by the victim.

SAPS Kimberley cluster commander Major-General Jean Abraham welcomed the jail sentence and commended the investigation team for securing the imprisonment of the two rapists.
