A man was critically injured after a head-on collision between a truck and car on the R50 near Bapsfontein, East of Johannesburg.
"A light motor vehicle lay on the opposite side of the road, completely ripped open. The engine of the light motor vehicle, as well as oil and debris, lay all over the scene," ER24 reported.
"On assessment, paramedics found the driver of the light motor vehicle slumped in the passenger seat in a critical condition. "
"Paramedics carefully removed the patient from the vehicle and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patient was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention."
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
