700 malaria cases in Limpopo in 3 months

About 700 malaria have been reported in Limpopo in the past three months, SABC news reported on Sunday.

The cases were reported in the Vhembe and Mopani districts in the north of the province. The Donald Fraser, Nkhensani, Malamulele, Musina, and Maphutha Malatjia hospitals had the highest numbers of malaria patients.

The health department warned travellers to take precautions as it was malaria season in the province. The department sent teams to spray houses in the districts as part of preventative measures.

Those who travelled to the area in December were urged to be aware of malaria symptoms such as fever, body pains, headache, nausea, and diarrhoea. Anyone showing any of these symptoms was advised to seek medical attention.
