They stole items that included 10 SA Music Awards, laptops, iPods, a music system, cash from the safe and a spare key for the safe.

Two men accused of breaking into musician Lerato "Lira" Molapo's house and stealing items will appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.

A 24-year-old man was caught with some of the stolen items at a house not far from Molapo's home, Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said on Saturday.

"The second suspect, 26, alleged to be the owner of the house, handed himself to the police."

The burglary occurred on Friday, while Molapo and her husband were attending a Women's Day celebration.

The thieves apparently entered the house through the back sliding door which was broken, Mogale said.

They stole items that included 10 SA Music Awards, laptops, iPods, a music system, cash from the safe and a spare key for the safe.

Police recovered two iPods, two laptops, an amplifier, a cellphone and an Xbox 360.
