ZIMBABWE will always be grateful to South Africa and the ANC leadership for fostering peace in the country, vice-president Joice Mujuru said in a report on the Zimbabwe Herald website

Speaking after attending the ANC's centenary celebrations in Bloemfontein, Mujuru said Zanu-PF would continue learning from the ANC, particularly on how it used its youth structures to strengthen the party.

She represented President Robert Mugabe at the centenary celebrations last week.

Mujuru, pictured, said Zanu-PF would continue to learn from the ANC on growing the party from its youth structures and working with youth to strengthen the party.

"There is a need for the leadership to start building for the future and this should start within our youth league structures.

"It is a good thing that we are building our party for future generations," Mujuru said

She dismissed reports that relations between the two revolutionary parties were frosty.

"Relations between our movements remain excellent.

"This is evident from the fact that we were invited to attend the celebrations," she said.

"We are living in peace because of the South African leadership's efforts to bring us together and we are grateful."
