A SENIOR member of the ANC was stabbed and burnt to death yesterday near Pretoria, allegedly by her jealous ex-boyfriend.
Elsie Mahlangu, 51, was home at 2pm when the man stormed in, police spokesperson Johannes Jafta said.
The man allegedly stabbed Mahlangu several times and then set the house alight and ran away.
"Neighbours saw the smoke and used buckets of water to put out the blaze before finding Mahlangu's charred body on the floor."
Jafta said Mahlangu had been the ANC treasurer in Ward 99, in Tshwane.
