Would-be rapist hurt

She bit off his tongue

AN WOULD-BE rapist will be in pain this morning when he appears in the Makwane magistrate's court after his would-be victim bit off his tongue.

The suspect was also stabbed several times by the 53-year-old woman he tried to rape in QwaQwa, Eastern Free State on Friday night.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Mmako Mophiring said the 19-year-old alleged attacker was arrested on Tuesday.

According to Mophiring, the piece of tongue the woman bit off helped in the arrest of the man in Makwane Village.

The suspect allegedly broke into the woman's house while she was asleep.

She woke up and, realising she was in danger, rushed to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and went back to the bedroom - to wait for the intruder in darkness.

The intruder tried to force himself on the woman and put his tongue in her mouth but was immediately bitten and stabbed.
