IT IS that time of the year when the natural progression of things in the Sasol women's league take place.

In order to decide which clubs will represent all nine provinces at the national playoffs, winners of the provincial A and B streams will meet in each of the provinces this weekend to decide which club will represent its province.

The national playoffs will take place in Limpopo from May 17-23, where teams will attempt to dethrone inaugural champions, Mpumalanga province's Detroit Ladies.

The action starts on Saturday with what promises to be an engrossing clash between Luso Africa and Palace Super Falcon at the upgraded Katlehong Stadium. Kickoff is at 2.30pm.

National coach Augustine Makalakalane will also be at hand to pick players for his Banyana Banyana side between 8am and 9am.

These clinics that Makalakalane runs - supported by goalkeeper coach Cameroon Cox and Joseph Mkhonza - have proved valuable, unearthing competent and talented players. The most recent discoveries include strikers as Mampasha Popela and Lelethu Nguta, who have grown tremendously of late.
