Rovers plan their luck

BLACKBURN Rovers have attributed their success in the 12th edition of the Safa Vodacom League in Mpumalanga at the weekend to their preparation.

The Eastern Cape side spent almost R300000 to prepare for the promotion event.

Rovers gained promotion to the National First Division (NFD) after defeating KwaZulu-Natal's Island FC 3-0 in their final coastal stream of the national playoffs held at Themba Senamela Stadium in Middelburg on Saturday.

"We spent R291000 on the 14-day training camp in Mpumalanga to prepare for the playoffs. W e thank all the people who traveled with us to rally behind the team, including representatives of the Eastern Cape government and Buffalo City Municipality."

Mcedani said they were searching for a coach after Kenny Tofi resigned before the club started their final playoff preparations.

"I need an experienced coach to work with Luxolo Matinkica and David Sebambani, who did a great job to help us to gain promotion," said Mcedani.

Mcedani, an East London businessman, added they will look for seasoned players to bolster the squad for the NFD.

Currently Rovers have two ex professionals in Simon Zobane and Hlaole Motaung who played for Ria Stars and Tembisa Classic respectively.
