THE new Safa leadership is starting their clean-up operation at Nasrec this weekend with a Fifa-financed workshop on Robben Island. It starts in Cape Town tomorrow.
"Fifa has insisted that all members of the new national executive committee must be present," said Mandla "Shoes" Mazibuko, Safa's deputy president.
"Fifa will also be inducting the new executive, we are moving forward with transforming football in South Africa and there is no turning back.
"On Sunday, we will break to watch the opening ceremony of the Africa Cup of Nations finals taking place in Angola.
"We fully support the Afcon finals despite not qualifying. Some of our executive members, including the president (Kirsten Nematandani) are going to Angola. The technical staff of Bafana Bafana will also go there to watch the matches," said Mazibuko.
He said the Safa executive committee would also meet next weekend.
"It will be a lekgotla for the executive from January 15 to 17, part of the cleaning-up operation by the new leadership.
"There will be presentations by various people on our vision, we will also deal with the staff audit. The audit will help us in terms of the areas where we have to beef up personnel."
Mazibuko said after the lekgotla, Safa would convene an indaba to map the way forward for the game after the World Cup. "We will invite all the stakeholders, from government, Sascoc and the Safa regions."
