SANTOS come face to face with Bloemfontein Celtic in a league match at the Newlands Stadium this evening.

The Cape side played to a goalless draw against Kaizer Chiefs in their first game of the season and, judging by their celebrations at the end of the game, they were quite happy with sharing the spoils.

How Santos will fare this season without their former coach David Bright remains to be seen. Every one involved with the club will have to pull their weight to make sure the team avoids relegation. Senior players like Eleazor Rodgers and Botswana international Mogogi Gabonamong will definitely have to come to the party.

Celtic on the other hand will do well to stay clear of the dreaded relegation zone this time around to avoid a repeat of what happened last season.

But there's an air of optimism around Celtic this season. They have got rid of players like Soul Mmethi and Ditheko Mototo, and brought in the likes of skillful midfielder Mkhanyiseli Siwahla, Excellent Walaza and Mokete Tsotesti.

l In another PSL match tonight, newcomers Mpumalanga Black Aces entertain Moroka Swallows at the Puma Rugby Stadium.

Both matches start at 7.30pm. - Sapa
