GIFTED winger Tlou "Shuffle" Segolela has a reason to smile - he will continue to enjoy game-time in the new season.

GIFTED winger Tlou "Shuffle" Segolela has a reason to smile - he will continue to enjoy game-time in the new season.

The winger has been retained by Bloemfontein Celtic, the team that offered him an opportunity to play regularly in the past season.

This after Phunya SeleSele succeeded in their negotiations with Orlando Pirates for a contract extension for the 21-year-old.

His six-month contract at Celtic expired at the end of the season. "This [new contract] means that I will continue to do what I like most - playing football. It was good for me to be loaned out to Celtic where I was given enough time to play considering that I was not playing as much as I would have loved to at Pirates," said Segolela yesterday.

The player scored three goals for Celtic since arriving at the team together with young defender Tshepiso Tshabalala during the January transfer window.

Tshabalala, who is from Pirates' development structures, has returned to Parktown.

Celtic coach Owen Da Gama is equally ecstatic that the former Amajita player will still play for him in the 2009-10 season. "He is such a fantastic player and he will help us a lot in our quest to do well next season," said Da Gama, who recently clinched a two-season deal with Celtic.

Meanwhile, Da Gama and his assistant David Modise return to Windhoek, Namibia, tomorrow as their bid to shop for new players from the neighbouring countries continues in earnest.

The duo, who attended friendlies at the Namibian capital on Monday, will watch a 2010 World Cup qualifier between the Brave Warriors and the DRC.

Meanwhile, Pirates fans in the greater Carletonville will meet at Chicago bar on Sunday at 11am.
