Bloemfontein Celtic are very much aware that they are not yet safe from the big drop to the National First Division next season.

It is against this background that their striker, Patrick Malokase insists they have to get maximum points in their two remaining games to stay clear of the Platinum playoffs too.

Phunya SeleSele start the campaign of collecting the six points against Bay United in an Absa Premiership match at Free State Stadium at 7.30 tonight.

"We do not expect favours, we just have to go out there and win the two games ourselves to avoid any chance of featuring in the Platinum playoffs," said Malokase.

"We are aware that it won't be easy, Bay United will not go down without a fight. We have to do it for Siwelele [Celtic supporters]."

Umlilo have already been relegated, the exit from the top flight of the Eastern Cape's only Premiership side confirmed by the 5-0 drubbing by Bidvest Wits at Milpark Stadium last Saturday.

Celtic are buoyed by their 2-0 win over Platinum Stars in a drama-filled match last Sunday, which saw them avoid automatic relegation to the First Division. They are third from the bottom on 30 points, one point above Thanda Royal Zulu.

Duran Francis, United's captain said: "It's been a long season and definitely not the best way of ending it after all the hard work and sacrifice. "We are very disappointed but we have to look forward to the future. We'll go out there and play to the best of our ability on Wednesday and Saturday."

l In KwaZulu-Natal, TRZ will have to beat Platinum Stars at SJ Smith Stadium at 7.30 tonight if they are also serious about avoiding the Platinum playoffs.

Still in KwaZulu-Natal, AmaZulu and Bidvest Wits meet at Chatsworth Stadium at 7.30pm where both sides are desperate for a win to stay in the top eight bracket.
