Mischievous to taint Nzimande

I read with disbelief allegations that Blade Nzimande was an IFP member at some stage. I also noted that some comrades believed it.

I read with disbelief allegations that Blade Nzimande was an IFP member at some stage. I also noted that some comrades believed it.

But I was comforted by the mature article written by Ido Lekota of Sowetan, in which he dismisses an enquiry as a waste of time.

I don't understand why an unsubstantiated and shallow claim should receive such attention - and demand an enquiry - when our country is faced with demands of improving our economy and ushering in of a better life for all.

This type of discourse is convenient for opportunists who, in my view, will not survive a normal political engagement.

The SACP should not be detracted in its search for a just, equitable and growing economy by giving the hypocrites a decent response and engagements.

Some of us have known Nzimande and have worked with him for a long time. Some of these individuals were even recruited, given political education and inducted by him. Now they drag his name through the mud.

Our country needs progress and people who will drive its developmental agenda and push back the frontiers of poverty.

Allegations on and enquiries into petty issues are not part of this agenda and belong in the dustbin of history.
