Bomb blast before Zim talks resume

Talks between Zimbabwe's ruling party and the opposition on ending the political crisis have resumed.

Talks between Zimbabwe's ruling party and the opposition on ending the political crisis have resumed.

The talks, which were adjourned after there was a deadlock last week, resumed at an undisclosed venue in South Africa yesterday.

President Robert Mugabe's party Zanu-PF began power-sharing talks with the opposition Movement for Democratic Change in South Africa two weeks ago to try to resolve the crisis after Mugabe's unopposed re-election in a poll boycotted by the opposition.

Meanwhile back in Zimbabwe, which is also suffering economic collapse, police confirmed that a bomb exploded at the central police station in the capital Harare on Saturday. There were no casualties and no one has claimed responsibility. - Reuters
