Defend or else, champs told
Boxing SA has ordered 13 champions to either defend their titles or engage in international contests to avoid being stripped of their belts.
They are: Osborne Machimana (SA heavyweight) versus Miyan Solomons, Thabiso Mchunu (junior heavyweight) defend or engage in an international contest, Daniel Bruwer (light heavyweight champ) against Anthony van Niekerk, Khotso Motau and Tshepang Mohale (vacant super middleweight title), Peter Mashamaite and Khaphathe Mphambanyeni (vacant middleweight belt), Vincent Vuma (junior middleweight holder) against Alvin Mahonisi.
Bongani Mwelase (welterweight champ) against Thabo Mashishi, Samuel Malinga (junior welterweight holder) versus Colin Mayisela, Amon Baloyi (lightweight champ) against Patrick Malinga, Godfrey Nzimande (junior lightweight holder) against Jasper Seroka.
Ludumo Galada (featherweight champ) against Leli Mbilase, Macbute Sinyabi (junior featherweight holder) select a challenger for his mandatory defence, while Simphiwe Vetyeka (bantamweight ruler) against Vuyisile Bebe.
