Burnt body recovered
Police have recovered the body of an unknown man who was burnt beyond recognition in the Oyegweni Reserve near Mkuze, northern KwaZulu-Natal.
The man is between the ages of 30 and 35 years. Mbazwana police were patrolling the area when they spotted the remains of the man in the bush.
Police spokesman Jabulani Mdletshe said the face of the deceased had been burnt beyond recognition.
They could only determine that the man had dreadlocks. "It looks as if he was killed before he was set alight. A brown belt was also found near his body," said Mdletshe.
He said police were requesting anyone who might have a relative missing or who might have any information that could lead to the arrest of the killers to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Ephraim Bobby Mokoena.
Police are investigating a murder case.
