Zuma 'rural gift'
ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma is about to give one of the country's destitute and forgotten rural areas its first hi-tech school.
Through his education trust and in conjunction with the Young Communist League, Zuma is believed to have raised several million rand from a fundraising dinner he hosted in Polokwane recently. The school, expected to be named after Zuma, will be build in Senwamokgope in Polokwane.
If this is Zuma's quest for votes in the province during the party's congress in December, then the man popularly known as Msholozi may well be ahead of his opponents, including president Thabo Mbeki.
Zuma will be joined by the provincial MEC for education Elias Motsoaledi in a sod-turning ceremony tomorrow.
