The arrest of a popular radio DJ in connection with the death of a well-known Limpopo pastor and interpreter in the provincial legislature has caused an uproar.

Pastor Musa Maluleke, 35, of the Good Soil Christian Church in Polokwane, was kidnapped from his studio by armed men a week ago.

His body was subsequently discovered in a shallow grave near Thokgwaneng village in Lebowakgomo.

Brian Rikhotso, or "DJ Brian" to his Munghana Lonene FM listeners, is one of the suspects and is expected to appear in the Polokwane magistrate court today.

Police initially arrested two suspects, aged 30 and 32, who were found driving around in the victim's Nissan Almera, before being led to the grave.

Rikhotso was arrested on Friday morning on his way to work at the Polokwane-based SABC Xitsonga station, where he was to host his "Morning Drive" show.

The speaker of the legislature, Dean Farisani, told Sowetan yesterday that Maluleke was a "God-loving man".

"We have lost a multitalented person who also served in the communication section of the legislature," said Farisani.
