SA songbirds aim high in Avon race

THREE drop-dead gorgeous South African singers stand a chance of being flown to Hollywood in the US if they make it to the Top 25 in the Avon Voices.

Lynn Brooks, Melina Katende and Elsche van Wyk, who broke the mould when they made it through to the first round of the Global O-line Talent Search, could get a taste of the life of champagne and caviar.

They will be treated to professional vocal coaching, a video performance shoot and Avon makeovers from July 14 to 19.

They are wreaking havoc in New York, thanks to their astounding voices.

The songstresses made it through two rounds.

The talented local lasses were chosen from stacks of entries from other hopefuls around the world. This is the cosmetic house's first global online singing talent search.

And the three artists from our shores are now part of the top 100 singers in the world.

Itching to make it to the international music scene, they are competing against 41 countries and making it to the second round is therefore a mean feat.

In fact, it advances them closer to the trophy, the top 25 brilliant singers in the world.
