DJ Beatz polishing his craft before he blows up

For upcoming artist Charles Ramatswi, also known to his fans as "Beatz", fame and money are inevitable.

The young deejay from Umfuyaneni in Tembisa says he is in no hurry to blow up in the entertainment industry as he is interested in perfecting his craft first.

DJ Beatz, 27, started pursuing his love for the turntables in 2008, a year before he completed his matric.

"I started DJing in my brother's room while trying out this new software called Automix. Seeing how my friends who used to listen to my music reacted, I realised that I was quite skilful for a first-time mixer," he says.

The aspiring artist says he moved to Pretoria after finishing school to pursue his studies in marketing while DJing on the side and got his first paying gig.

As a young DJ he played at a local Res Social event hosted by two popular local DJs, Tumelo - also known as Lucky Packet - and SK95, in 2010.

He eventually got an opportunity to play at TUT's 2011 and 2012 Fresher's Balls where he shared the stage with renowned House DJs such as Shimza, Tira, Oskido, Culoe de Song and DJ Sbu.

DJ Beatz just released his single titled Believe It featuring vocalist Paul B.

His full album is scheduled for release later this year under his new management company, Net So Management.

"I am not hurrying the album. I know it's going to be a hit. I am just waiting for the right moment when I feel I am ready before I could release it."
