Fans share their favourite Sfiso Ncwane memories

The death of award-winning gospel icon Sfiso Ncwane shocked the nation on Monday and saw a flood of social media tributes to the late star.

The musician had a special place in the hearts of many of his fans‚ and they filled sites like Twitter and Facebook with some of their favourite memories of the star.

Fans took to TshisaLIVE and TimesLIVE’s social media pages in the hours following Sfiso’s death‚ to share the impact he had on their lives

Facebook user Lindie Motsoane wrote: “My heart is really broken. His songs have seen me through a lot in my life...he really ministered to me. Condolences to the family‚ the children and his wife that he so loved and adored“.

S’phe Mtethwa remembered fondly when she heard the late musician sing “inhliziyo yam ngyaynikela kujesu (I give my heart to Jesus)“.

While Phumlani Mntungwa Khumalo said that she had once met the star at work.

“(My favourite moment was) meeting him in person at my former workplace...kufa awunamahloni (death‚ you have no shame).

Some remembered his sharp dress sense.

While‚ others remember his “golden voice.”

Jones Yamikani Chadza said that Sfiso’s death had taught him about the value of life.

“S’fiso’s death has just reminded me that am not here to stay...no matter how much the mountain of treasure I can mount...but one day I will walk away and live everything!! Life its wealth it only when you worshiping God...cause there I know that am on his right hand!! To me this death is a wakeup call that its high time to change my life completely and look forward to God!” Jones wrote.

Sfiso died at a Johannesburg hospital on Monday morning of kidney failure.
