DJ Mgedeza thankful for concert

"Siyabangena Concert tours have benefitted my career"

VETERAN Club DJ Mgedeza is convinced that being part of the Securex Soweto Siyabangena Concert tours has elevated his profile.

Mgedeza says appearing on those big Securex billboards on the highway has added weight to his profile.

Tomorrow he and the popular Dr Malinga will perform at Sebetsa Othole Moputso Sports Grounds in Snake Park as part of the Securex Soweto Siyabangena Concert series.

They will be joined on stage by budding DJs Fresca and Tshepo Junior.

The experienced, but underrated Mgedeza, says he has performed alongside the best DJs in the past decade.

"I have played with international and the best local DJs. Tomorrow's gig will be no different to the others. I am honoured to be part of Securex Siyabangena Tours, which has benefited my career," Mgedeza, who was born Sello Mutau, says.

Apart from his club DJ career Mgedeza also hosts Drive Time on Jozi FM between 3pm and 6pm on weekdays. On Saturdays he hostsThe Good and Olden Days from 5pm to 9pm.

Prince Tshabalala, who is one of the MCs, says: "Being part of these tours is a great experience because we work with the community.

"I think it's one of the best ways to introduce a product to people."

Securex Siyabangena Soweto Concerts started on February 25 at Mndeni Sports Ground in Soweto and continues until April 1.

  • Tickets will not be sold at the gate. Entry is exclusive to wristband holders and can be obtained at ticketing points by producing three Securex soap bars and any MAQ product. They are issued three days before the event.
