THE Oude Meester Ekurhuleni Comes Alive Jazz Evening at Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg will close the calendar on a high note.

The music concept that has been going for years will throw a mother of all parties on December 9.

The event features celebrated musicians Max Shaluza, Zahara, Ntando and Selaelo Selota.

Shaluza will also launch his new album, which boasts some of the best musicians in the business with an amazing sound that appeals to a wide audience locally and abroad.

Shaluza's music is strongly rooted in African tradition, incorporating contemporary jazz with global rhythms to a repertoire that is voracious and versatile at its finest.

Golden girl and artist of the moment, Zahara, will perform songs from her debut album Loliwe.

Jazzman Mahlakgane, marketing director of Birchwood Hotel, said: "We have decided to move the event to the Birchwood Hotel gardens for the very first time as part of our Christmas welcoming and celebration.

"We have taken a decision to give our sponsors value for their sponsorship.

"We have been considering trying our gardens for one of the shows and there couldn't be a better advice than the December one."

Mahlakgane said the evening would be a special one, specifically with very talented individuals like Zahara and Ntando in the lineup.

"Ntando will definitely wow the female crowd with his music.

"He will sample some songs from his latest album."

Mahlakgane said tickets for the event had been sold out.
