Fear TV

THERE'S no doubt e.tv reality show Fear Factor has many followers. I am one of them. Well, sometimes.

I must confess, though, I only watch particular episodes. Some of the activities on this show, which in essence are geared to helping the contestants deal with their fear, are as ridiculous as they are laughable.

For example, sometime ago I watched an episode in which contestants were asked to eat mogodu. Well, I know that the contestants are American and mogodu is foreign to them. But can you imagine asking black South Africans to eat mogodu as a challenge? I laughed my lungs out when I saw the contestants struggling to eat mogodu. Please, give us a break!

But, I liked this week's episode in which models in bikinis were required to carry out a number of stunts, including swimming and touching an alligator's tail. Now that is serious stuff. Watching these models with their well-toned bodies was just good television. I am sure a lot of male viewers who saw the episode will agree with me.

Well done e.tv!
