The SA Football Association (Safa) on Saturday announced a R10 million profit for the financial year ending June 2014.

Safa made the announcement at its 24th annual general congress in Johannesburg, revealing that the national soccer body had returned to a position of strength from having recorded a loss of R46 million in the previous financial year.

As a result, Safa announced that the body had reserves of R6 million. In the last financial year it had a negative reserve balance of R4 million.

Meanwhile, the Safa congress approved a budget of R273,768,142 for the current financial year, which began on July 1 2014.
