Orlando Pirates goalkeeper coach Ivica Vukusic was allegedly robbed and kidnapped by two skimpily dressed women in broad daylight.

These details emerged after Vukusic reported the two ladies at Randburg police station claiming that they robbed him of R1000 cash and two Samsung cellphones worth R5000.

The incident allegedly happened in Midrand on Thursday afternoon.

The Croatian, who recently joined the Buccaneers after the appointment of new head coach Milutin "Micho" Sredojevic, said he fell into a trap by the two women who offered to accompany him to his destination where he was set to join the team.

According to a police statement he deposed, Vukusic said the two women approached him when he had stopped at a robot and told him he looked lost and offered to help him get to his destination.

The goalkeeper coach said he agreed that he was lost as he was trying to find the venue where his teammates were.

The police affidavit states that the two women were wearing skimpy dresses. Vukusic said he accepted their offer and opened the doors for them.

He said 20 minutes into their drive, one of the women made a phone call and spoke for approximately five minutes.

According to the affidavit, Vukusic could not understand the language used during the phone conversation.

"I asked them if we are getting closer and they said we were, so I continued driving."

He said he got suspicious when one of the women started caressing his shoulder while he was driving.

"Then all of a sudden, I saw three ladies sitting on the road with five kids. I stopped the car out of shock and the two ladies I was with grabbed my hands and held them on the back of the driver seat," he said.

As his hands were held, the three women who were sitting on the road with kids came running to his car and started searching him and the car for money, he said.

The coach said the whole incident left him traumatised and he could not drive himself afterwards, until another motorist rescued him and accompanied him to the police station.

The case was later transferred to Midrand police station. Police spokesman Mmakgomo Semono confirmed the case. "The investigations are ongoing and the suspects have not been arrested."

Pirates administrator Floyd Mbhele said: "The coach is fine, though he is shaken by the incident. He was lost and there's no way he could have known that the ladies were prostitutes."
